Lavender Honey Soap Recipe
This simple melt-and-pour recipe combines lavender and honey for a balanced, easy-to-make bar. It’s a good option if you want something mild with a light scent and a clean finish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb goat's milk soap base
- 50 drops lavender essential oil
- .5 oz dried lavender
- 2 oz honey
- Silicone soap mold
Instructions
1. Cut and melt
Cut the soap base into small pieces and melt using a microwave (short intervals) or double boiler. Stir until fully melted.
2. Add ingredients
Let the base cool slightly, then mix in:
- Lavender essential oil
- Honey
Stir until evenly combined.
3. Add botanicals
Mix in dried lavender. You can also place a small amount directly into the molds for a cleaner look on top.
4. Pour
Pour into molds and tap lightly to release air bubbles.
5. Cool and set
Let the soap sit at room temperature until fully hardened.
6. Remove from mold
Once solid, remove and use or package as needed.
Notes
- Don’t overheat the base—it can affect clarity and texture
- Add fragrance after cooling slightly to help retain scent
- Keep mix-ins minimal to avoid separation
Why it works
- Lavender oil adds a light, familiar scent
- Honey helps with moisture retention
- Goat's milk base provides a smooth, stable bar
