Spring Citrus Oatmeal Soap
Looking for an easy spring soap recipe? This citrus oatmeal soap is simple to make and has a fresh, clean scent from sweet orange, lemon, and grapefruit essential oils. Colloidal oatmeal adds a smooth, soothing feel, making these bars great for everyday use or gifting.
Ingredients
- 1 lb melt-and-pour soap base (shea butter or goat milk both work well)
- 3 tablespoons colloidal oatmeal
- 15 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 10 drops lemon essential oil
- 5 drops grapefruit essential oil
Directions
Melt the Soap Base
Cut the soap base into small cubes and place them into a double boiler. Heat until fully melted and smooth.
Let It Cool Slightly
Remove the melted soap from the heat and let it cool for a minute or two before adding the essential oils. This helps keep the scent from fading.
Add the Oatmeal
Mix in the colloidal oatmeal until evenly combined.
Add Essential Oils
Stir in the sweet orange, lemon, and grapefruit essential oils until fully blended.
Pour into Molds
Pour the mixture into soap molds and gently tap them on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
Let Harden
Allow the soaps to harden at room temperature for about 2–4 hours before removing them from the molds.
Final Thoughts
This recipe is a great option for beginners and works well for spring collections, gifts, or everyday handmade skincare. The citrus blend keeps the scent fresh and light, while the oatmeal adds a simple, skin-friendly touch.
